Relations with Natives
Unlike the south and New England, which considered the natives barbaric and effectively launched wars against them, the Middle Colonies had a different look on them, considering them trading partners and being on good terms with them. This was a good thing, as we gained many things from them, including gold, food, furs, and other objects considered valuable by colonists and Europeans alike, for their rarity. Some groups of Native Americans include the Iroquois, relatively intelligent natives, making a confederacy, and the Algonquin. In the middle colonies, we are respectful of them, and we have managed to keep it that way. This can also be seen in William Penn's letter to the natives, hoping for good relations. So, if for no other reason, why not come to the Middle Colonies for good relations with natives, and to gain money from trade?
